GENERAL:
This is FBLA Week, and Waukesha North's FBLA Chapter is proud to announce that our members did well at Regional Competition on Saturday in Muskego. Danica Molina was recognized in the top eight for her efforts in Word Processing I; Tylar Nelson received a medal for 5th for her Web Site Design; and Adam Kouhel placed FIRST in Public Speaking I, earning the opportunity to compete in LaCrosse at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in April.
Mystery Weekend, North's winter play, will premiere this Thursday, February 9th, at 7:00 p.m. and run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Tickets are free with a North ID! See Ms. Hopper for more information.
North T-shirts are for sale for $10. The proceeds go to support our Graphic Arts Program. The shirts are on display outside of Mr. Blessington's office. Place an order with Mrs. Billinghurst. Shirts will be made upon payment.
HOSA will be meeting in room 109 on Wednesday, Feb 7th at 2:50 for all interested in participating. Come see what HOSA can do for you, and what YOU can do for HOSA! See you there!
Dance Guest pass forms are available in the Main Office.
Parking Permits are now available for second semester. The cost is $50 and all school fees must be paid before a permit will be issued. The Waukesha Police Department will begin ticketing on January 30th. Students are not allowed to park in the Visitor Parking spaces and will be issued a ticket if they do so.
***Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 18th from 8 to 11 pm for North's 2012 Sadie’s dance. Tickets will be sold for $10 each during both lunches in the commons, the week of the dance
"Gotta band? Then YOU NEED to play in the Musicians United for Charity show at West March 9th. The concert is sponsored by the North and West Key Clubs. Please attend an informational meeting Thursday February 9th in the Northstar Conference Room (by the Health Room) at 3:00.
Arrowhead high school will be offering an American Red Cross Lifeguard/Waterfront Training Course. The course will take place at Arrowhead on the following dates:

Sunday,May 6th 4-10 pm
Sunday, May 20th 4-10 pm The cost of the course is 175.00 .

STUDENT SERVICES:
On Wednesday, February 8th during 3rd hour, the Criminal Justice Department from WCTC will be here to meet with interested students in the East Lecture Hall. If you would like to attend, please do not forget to get your ENTRY TICKET!
5th period on Monday, February 6th UW-Milwaukee will be here for a college visit in the East Lecture Hall.
There is free help available to get money for college! College Goal Wisconsin will host 29 locations across the state on February 18 and 19, 2012 to help students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is the application students MUST fill out to receive federal and state grants and loans to pay for college. Students and and families can get FREE help at 2:00 p.m. on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2012 at UW-WAUKESHA. To get more information and a list of what to bring with you visit, www.collegegoalwi.org .

Have you ever thought about a career in Cosmetology? Early Childhood Education? Human Services? Interior Design? WCTC is hosting an Open House for students interested in pursuing careers in these fields on Thursday, February 23rd from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at WCTC – “S” Building. Go to www.WCTC.edu for more information. Students that attend this event will receive a voucher to waive the $30 application fee for WCTC.
Senior Families-
If your student has received any type of scholarship from the college, university or technical school they will be attending in fall AND/OR has received any type of community, business, civic or academic scholarships, please have your student bring a copy of their notification letter to Mrs. Bralick in Student Services AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!
Please keep in mind that we will not disclose any monetary amounts. Our goal is to make sure we recognize your student appropriately at the end of the year. All scholarship or award notifications submitted to our office by the due date, which is yet to be determined, will be listed in our Senior Honors Night AND Commencement programs. Notifications submitted after our due date may only be listed in our Commencement program due to time constraints. Our Senior Honors Night will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. and will be by invitation only. If you have any questions, please call Kelly Bralick at 262-970-3532.
Please remember that every student who wishes to attend a college visit MUST have an Entry Ticket to get in. Entry Tickets are located outside the door of Student Services and MUST be filled out and signed by your teacher 24 hours in advance of the visit!!
SPORTS: Any girls interested in track and field, there will be a meeting in room 805 on February 15th at 255. Please be sure to attend. If you can not attend the meeting please see Coach Hubmann in room 805. Girls track and field meeting room 805 February 15.
This is the final week of the regular season, sectionals will be Saturday at South High School. We had numerous lifetime bests this weekend at conference.

Congratulations go out to Jennifer Berger for making the "All Conference 2nd Team" with her 13 the place finish in district 1 varsity girls. Also Congratulations go out to Brandi Koch for her "Honorable Mention" and finishing 16th in district 1 varsity girls. Both of these bowlers will be competing for a singles bid to state tournament Thursday February 9th Classic lanes Greenfield 3:45. Well done ladies and good luck to you both.
